Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine’s week is upon us! I know this holiday is highly controversial. Some love it, some hate it, some just think it’s a way for corporations to make money. Either way, I look at it as a time for a few things: indulging in chocolate and strawberries, expressing my love to people I love, and definitely putting together Valentine’s inspired outfits!

Y’all know I am a lover of all prints and colors, but pink and red are both two of my favorite colors! So it may come as no surprise that I love styling up feminine looks for Valentine’s Day, like this tulle dress I paired with a pink sweater layered over. Layering a sweater or tee under or over dresses is one of my favorite ways to wear a dress I’ve had in my closet for a while in a new way! This ultra girly look is made for the Valentine’s Day lover <3

I am planning Valentine’s Day this year for Derek and I, and based on what I’ve planned, I think I’ll end up wearing something more casual, like this look! I thrifted these red pants with white roses on them, and I like that they’re a little edgier. I see them styled with chunky black boots or sneakers and a sweater or band tee with a vintage denim jacket.

Either way, picking a statement piece in an outfit and building out from there is an easy way to put together an amazing outfit quickly. I started with the tulle skirt and the red rose pants as my statement pieces in both looks, and built my looks around them. You can never go wrong with a statement pant and solid top, or a fun skirt and sweater!

I encourage you to hit up your thrift store in the next few days to thrift your Valentine’s look, whether that’s for a galentine’s brunch or a dinner at home with your significant other!
