Suits have made a major comeback this year, and I ain’t made about it one bit! I’ve been on board with this trend for a while now, and can’t get enough. Even though it’s time to shed that Winter skin, I’ll still be riding this train til Summer hits. Suits styled in the right way are the perfect way to transition into Spring! I have a few formulas I look to when styling a suit for Spring so I thought I’d share!
UpDown! This is probably my go-to when styling a suit. Dress it down! Throw on a T-Shirt for casual looks, or maybe try a pair of sneakers. I love the contrast of business and casual, and it always looks great!
- Femme. I love a good pastel, linen, (anything Spring-y really) with an ultra femme treatment. Suits can be boxy sometimes, so adding some soft touches through light fabrics and colors can really feminize a suit. Layering a camisole and adding dainty jewelry goes a long way!
- Night on the town – Wear a suit to happy hour or a night out by adding a bralette or body suit. I actually think wearing a suit can be super sexy when paired with the right things. Add some heels and accessories, and you’ve got yourself the perfect night out on the town outfit!
I chose to dress down my suit in this look! I thrifted this gorgeous vintage suit for $30, and it might be one of my all time favorite thrift finds ever. It even came with a skirt (that also magically fits perfectly too), so double win! This vintage suit is super classy, and is something I know I’ll cherish for a long time. Peaking out under this rad suit, is another one of my most favorite vintage items, my bootleg Gucci t-shirt. I picked this up on my trip to Passport Vintage in Austin this January. You can check my review of this awesome store here if you haven’t read it already. I love the added pop of red because I can’t get enough of red right now! This T is a staple in my closet, and I can pretty much throw it on with anything. I topped off my suit look with some neutral block heels and my dark green vintage Dooney and Bourke satchel!
So suit up! (or down), and get ready for Spring!
