Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Basically a whole month dedicated to love… and 90% off candy at Target once it’s passed! I so used to look forward to making Valentines for others, and the excitement and surprise that Valentine’s Day would bring. I know it’s often hated on for being a made up holiday for consumers, but I love any chance to celebrate LOVE!

If you saw my video posted this past week, then you know I went thrifting to create my my Valentine’s Day look! You can watch it here, if not! But if you have seen it, then you know I incorporated items from the thrift store to create my Valentine’s look. My fiance and I will be keeping it pretty simple this year. He’ll be playing a concert on the 14th, so we’re celebrating on the 12th when he has a night off. We want to keep it casual (and still very Valentine’s themed!) in our home, so I wanted to be cute and comfortable. I couldn’t think of anything better than a romantic night in!

After plowing through all the pinks and reds at the thrift, I finally stumbled upon this adorable orange-red cardigan. I wanted something that hinted at Valentine’s Day rather than screamed it so this was the perfect find! I knew this basic cardigan had so much potential, so I wanted to give it some new life, and wear it a little different than your usual one. I thought to just turn it around with the buttons facing backwards, but ultimately decided to turn it around and tie it up. Y’all, I am going to be trying this with every cardigan I own! The peak of skin in the back, and bow added a little extra flare and girlishness to this outfit. I added a few more touches of pink and red, and topped it off with a giant dose of pattern smashing because I love pattern smashing, and this outfit is all about love, right?!

What are your Valentine’s plans? Whatever they are, do them with LOVE!

XOXO
