Spring has definitely sprung here in Florida, and I can’t help but want to take advantage of all the beautiful nature this state has to offer (hopefully my allergies can forgive me…). I’m already planning lots of trips for the coming weekends to enjoy the outdoors more. This season is inspiring me to shed my winter skin and bring out all of my most vibrant threads!
This tropical print crop top reminds me of something a tourist would buy on vacation to Hawaii in the 80s. Maybe in its’ past life, it was! This palm frond laden top is certainly not your average Hawaiian print shirt. I don’t normally gravitate toward these kitschy shirts, but this one was too unique to pass up. The tie in the front is perfect for wearing over a swim suit sans buttons, or pairing with a chic pair of trousers… like these!
In a quick stop at the thrift store I grabbed these Ralph Lauren, 100% silk, striped pants that also came with a matching blouse ($10 total!). I got home and realized they were just super fancy pajamas, but I honestly didn’t care. I styled them like high-waisted draw string pants, and voilà! Super cute pants that are also hella comfy. Did I mention I wore these to work, and secretly knew I had gotten away with wearing pajamas? Yeah, I did.
Mixing prints an be really scary, but I find stripes and a floral pattern of some sort paired together are very complementary and fun. Just try to stick to the same general or neutral colors, and you’ve got the perfect Spring outfit!
